OVERVIEW
BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) is the only professional dental course in India. After qualifying this course students can do practice as dentists. It is an undergraduate Course. The duration of the course is 5-year, including 4 years of academic study and 1 year of compulsory internship.
The program covers oral anatomy, dental materials, prosthodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, surgery, and community dentistry. Admission is based on NEET-UG scores. After successfully completion of BDS course graduates can work as dentists, dental surgeons, or students can go for higher studies like- MDS.
