Exam Sessions

MHT CET is conducted once a year, typically in April-May.

The sessions are divided into two major groups:

  • PCM Group (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) – For Engineering aspirants.
  • PCB Group (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) – For Pharmacy & Agriculture aspirants.

Steps of Application

  • Visit the Official Website – cetcell.mahacet.org
  • Register with personal details and create a login ID.
  • Fill the Application Form – Enter academic details, select exam group (PCM/PCB), and upload required documents.
  • Upload Documents – Recent photograph & signature in prescribed format.
  • Pay the Application Fee – Online payment via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
  • Submit the Form – Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.

 

 

Application Fees

1. For General Category Candidates (Outside Maharashtra & Open Category):

  • PCM/PCB Group: ₹800
  • Both PCM & PCB Groups: ₹1,600

2. For Reserved Category Candidates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD - Maharashtra State only):

  • PCM/PCB Group: ₹600
  • Both PCM & PCB Groups: ₹1,200

3. For NRI/OCI/PIO, Foreign Nationals:

  • PCM/PCB/Both Groups: ₹5,000

Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality:

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.

2. Age Limit:

  • No age limit for MHT CET.

3. Educational Qualification:

  • Must have passed Class 12 (HSC) or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Minimum marks required:
    • Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) – 45% (General), 40% (Reserved categories - Maharashtra only) in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biology/Technical Vocational subject.
    • Pharmacy (B.Pharm/D.Pharm) – 45% (General), 40% (Reserved categories) in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics.

4. Domicile Criteria (for Maharashtra State Quota Seats):

  • Candidates must fulfill Maharashtra state domicile conditions for state quota seats.
  • Other state candidates can apply for All India Quota (AIQ) seats (based on MHT CET or JEE).

5. Additional Eligibility for Specific Categories:

  • NRI/OCI/PIO & Foreign Nationals: Eligible for admission under institutional quota.

Note: Candidates appearing for Class 12 exams in the same year are also eligible to apply.

Medium of Exam

  • PCM Group (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) – Available in English only.
  • PCB Group (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) – Available in English, Marathi, and Urdu.

Total Duration: 180 minutes (3 hours)

1.PCM Group (Engineering - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics)

  • Total Time: 3 hours (180 minutes)
  • Physics & Chemistry: 90 minutes
  • Mathematics: 90 minutes

2.PCB Group (Pharmacy & Agriculture - Physics, Chemistry, Biology)

  • Total Time: 3 hours (180 minutes)
  • Physics & Chemistry: 90 minutes
  • Biology: 90 minutes

Note: Candidates appearing for both PCM & PCB will have to take exams on separate days.

MHT CET is divided into two groups, each with specific subjects:

1. PCM Group (Engineering - B.E./B.Tech)

  • Paper 1: Mathematics (50 MCQs)
  • Paper 2: Physics & Chemistry (100 MCQs – 50 each)

2. PCB Group (Pharmacy/Agriculture - B.Pharm, B.Sc Agriculture)

  • Paper 1: Biology (50 MCQs)
  • Paper 2: Physics & Chemistry (100 MCQs – 50 each)

Key Points:

  • Candidates appearing for Engineering (PCM) must take Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • Candidates appearing for Pharmacy/Agriculture (PCB) must take Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

Syllabus

The MHT CET syllabus is based on the Maharashtra State Board (HSC - Class 11 & 12) curriculum.

Weightage:

  • 80% questions from Class 12 syllabus
  • 20% questions from Class 11 syllabus

PCM Group (Engineering - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics):

1. Physics:

  • Class 11: Measurements, Motion, Gravitation, Thermodynamics, Oscillations, Waves
  • Class 12: Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, Dual Nature of Matter, Atoms

2. Chemistry:

  • Class 11: States of Matter, Redox Reactions, Chemical Thermodynamics, Hydrocarbons
  • Class 12: Solid State, Chemical Kinetics, p-Block Elements, Coordination Compounds, Biomolecules

3. Mathematics:

  • Class 11: Trigonometry, Differentiation, Probability, Complex Numbers
  • Class 12: Integration, Vectors, 3D Geometry, Matrices, Differential Equations

PCB Group (Pharmacy/Agriculture - Physics, Chemistry, Biology):

1. Biology:

  • Class 11: Diversity of Living Organisms, Plant Physiology, Cell Biology
  • Class 12: Genetics, Biotechnology, Ecology, Human Physiology, Evolution

2. Physics & Chemistry Syllabus is the same as PCM Group.

 

 

Marking Scheme

  • Physics & Chemistry: 1 mark per question.
  • Mathematics: 2 marks per question.
  • Biology: 1 mark per question.

Counselling and Admission

The MHT CET Counselling is conducted through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) in multiple rounds.

Step-by-Step Counselling & Admission Process is given below:

Registration for CAP:

  • Visit cetcell.mahacet.org and complete the online registration.
  • Upload required documents and pay the counselling fee.

 

Document Verification & Merit List:

  • Submit documents for online verification.
  • Provisional Merit List is released, followed by the Final Merit List.

 

Choice Filling & Locking:

  • Candidates select and lock their preferred colleges and courses.

 

Seat Allotment Rounds:

  • Seats are allotted based on MHT CET score, preferences, and category.
  • Allotment results are published online for each CAP round.

 

Acceptance & Reporting:

  • If allotted a seat, accept it online and report to the allotted institute.
  • Pay the admission fee to confirm the seat.

 

Further Rounds (If Needed):

  • If unsatisfied, candidates can participate in subsequent CAP rounds for a better seat.
